The mission of the North Florida Sewing Center is to provide a safe space for collaborative efforts using needlework arts to promote health and sustainability for humans, animals and our environment.

Wondering what we do?

  • We make reusable, washable pads that are used to manage menstruation and incontinence. We designed a product that is not copyrighted so anyone can make their own and adapt the pattern to their needs. We distribute these items locally and around the world.

  • We make quilts for people transitioning out of homelessness (i.e., staying at GRACE Marketplace, Arbor House, Created Gainesville, etc., and refugees).

  • We use odd donated fabrics and our small scraps to make beds for companion animals.

  • We host and support other groups that do community service through needlework arts.

We welcome any and all who wish to serve!
